Boston's Most Original Eating and Drinking Establishment Since 1907

As read about in Improper Bostonian, Where Magazine, Barstool Sports, Boston Phoenix and Stuff @ Night.

We are ideally located between Beacon Hill and Government Center, in the heart of Boston. We are open Monday - Saturday from 11am to 2am and Sundays from 12pm to 12am, our kitchen is open all seven nights until 12am.

The red hat offers two different floors with two different environments, on the lower level (The Pub) you will find our bar with a warm feel, a great mix of patrons, flat screen tvs, and the best juke box in Boston.

On the second level it is like stepping back in time to 1906, you will find a dining room and historical bar that has been brought back to life from it's original look. A large mural of Boston in it's earlier days is adorning the walls of this 99 year old restaurant.

During lunch time you will find that the Red Hat is a favorite spot. A mix of people on both floors of this historic pub, from construction workers to news anchors, senators and congressmen. At night the red hat is a favorite after work meeting spot as well as great place to get an amazing home cooked meal. As the dinner hour comes to an end the red hat becomes a hopping night spot for locals and college students.

The downstairs bar at the Red Hat is certainly Boston's most original. Exposed brick walls, low ceilings, and flat screen tvs throughout make this the best basement bar around.

Holding your event at the Red Hat is a perfect way to celebrate or you're your appreciation to employees or friends. The upstairs dining room and bar can accommodate groups of up to 150 people. Whether you just need a small section or the entire upstairs we can help you plan your function on a moments notice.

The Red Hat features two floors of eating and drinking. Come relax in our upstairs lounge and restaurant featuring Boston's only stained glass bar, leather booths, candle lit tables, signature drinks and expanded wine list. The upstairs also includes our balcony seating great for people watching in Scollay Square.
